Take a trip with Sisterhood to the Lower East Side!

We are touring Kehila Kedosha Janina Synagogue and Museum, which is the last remaining Romaniote synagogue in the Western Hemisphere.

  • Who: Open to everyone in the congregation
  • What: Learn about the history of the Romaniote Jewish community
  • Where: Meet at CBT to take a bus to New York
  • Why: Why Not – It’ll be fun!
  • When: Sunday, June 22, 9am
  • Cost: $10 per person**

The tour begins with a program on the history of the Romaniote community, followed by a group walk-through of the synagogue and the museum.

Lunch will be on your own (we will provide a list of kosher restaurants within walking distance), after which we take the bus back to CBT.

Please note that the building is on three levels and is not handicapped accessible.

RSVP to Marci Abschutz by June 15.

**This trip is being underwritten by Sisterhood and Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund, which is allowing for the cost of the day to be so reasonably priced.
