Equipment Locations
Office Conference Room
The cabinet on the wall was built to contain the Network Video Recorder (NVR) for the security cameras.
| Modem – Router – 4-port switch |
The router sits above the modem on the Video cabinet and directly connects to 1) the Admin’s computer, 2) the Rabbi’s computer, 3) a jack located on the wall above the Administrative Assistant’s desk, and 4) a 4-port switch in the cabinet with the video recorder.
The 4-port switch connects to 1) the office copier/printer, 2) the Credit Card Scanner in the Admin’s office, 3) a Wireless Access Point Switch in Classroom 7 of the Nursery School wing, and 4) The NVR.
Administrative Assistant’s Desk Area
There are 3 jacks on the wall just above the desk. One connects to the 4-port switch in the conference room, another connects to an 8-port switch in the Nursery School wing, and the 3rd connects to a 4-port wireless switch in the Cantor’s office.
There is another 4-port switch mounted on the wall, below and just to rear of the desk. It is fed from the wall jack that connects to the router in the conference room. It connects to 1) the jack for the Nursery School wing, 2) the Administrative Assistant’s computer, 3) a 4-port switch in the Cantor’s office, and 4) the Pitney Bowes stamp machine.
Cantor’s Office
There is a Dlink wireless 4-port switch on the floor at the far corner of the office just behind the Cantor’s computer. This access-point switch is fed from the 4-port switch behind the Administrative Secretary’s desk via the rightmost jack on that wall above the desk. It connects to: 1) the Cantor’s computer, 2) The Lobby Monitor computer located just below the monitor that sits in the wall between the Cantor’s office and the lobby, and 3) a wireless access point located in the ceiling of the Audio Closet.
Audio Closet
The 4-port wireless access point/switch in the ceiling of the audio closet is fed from the 4-port switch in the Cantor’s office. It connects to: 1) a wireless access point/switch in the sanctuary located on a shelf near the ceiling next to the clock, 2) a wireless access point in the Caterer’s Kitchen, and 3) the Backup computer on the audio closet shelf which also runs the StreamSpot software to manage our broadcasts from the sanctuary.
Nursery Office Utility Room
The office contains an 8-port switch mounted on the wall behind the copier\printer.
This is fed from the jack on the wall above the Administrative Assistant’s desk in the main office. The switch connects to: 1) the Nursery Office copier/printer, 2) the Education Director’s computer, 3) a jack in the Youth Lounge, 4) a wireless-N access point in classroom 2, 5) a wireless switch in classroom 7, and 6) a 16-port switch in the new wing.
Nursery Classroom 7
A Linksys wireless access-point switch sits on the floor in the southwest corner of the room.
The access-point is wired to the computer which controls the “whiteboard”.
Electrical Closet in the New Wing
The 16-port Switch in the electrical closet in the multi-purpose room feeds all the classrooms and offices in the new wing, including the library. There is also a wireless access-point in the ceiling.
All 16 connections of the switch are labeled as going to: 1) The Library, 2) Wireless Access Point in Library, 3) Gift Shop, 4) School office (jacks A and B), 5) a Wireless Access Point above the closet, 6) Multi-purpose Room webcam, 7) Chabad’s network router, and Classrooms 11 through 17
Note: as of this posting, the connection to Classroom 17 is broken. The fault is not in the switch, nor either ends of the connection.
Library
The library contains a wireless access-point in the ceiling. There is also an ethernet jack in far corner of the room.
