We have all experienced a very challenging time in our lives, one that we pray will never happen again. More than anything I pray that we are all healthy, both physically and emotionally. I’m grateful for all of my blessings, especially my family and my congregational family. Together we are striving to survive by supporting each other in every way that we can.
I’ve been busy and busy is what makes me go, so I’m okay. I love that I am able to pray with you every day, I’m grateful to Zoom for helping me connect with my brothers and sisters and my entire family face to face and I enjoy the challenge of learning with my b’nai mitzvah students on the phone or zooming.
I feel badly for all of the people who are experiencing once in a lifetime events, whether happy or sad. You cannot relive the highs and lows in your life; there is a magnified sense of tension and loss. Our goal must be to support each other and provide the comfort that will allow us to express and validate our feelings.
I’ve always noted that each student is different and requires a different approach. Can you imagine preparing for your b’nai mitzvah on the phone and not really knowing when or if you’ll be able to celebrate “your big day”? Yet all of the kids work hard and are ready for my call. I’m so proud!
Each situation is different, although some of our simchas will surely be rescheduled, we will mark and recognize the b’nai mitzvah of each of our upcoming students with zoom and or streaming, together we will all be able celebrate each child’s incredible journey.
With Joy and Gratitude to God
Together, B’yachad,
