B’nai Tikvah uses the services of StreamSpot to provide live video streaming and archiving of Religious Services and other events in the synagogue sanctuary.
Equipment
The streaming service consists of a single camera controlled by a Laptop computer connected to our local network.
Camera
Axis POE model#: ip address: 192.168.0.88, Login user: admin, password: ????
Computer
Lenovo Laptop computer. The video signal is fed from the camera through 2 4-port access points (switches) to a USB/Ethernet adapter connected to the computer. Ideally, a single ethernet wire should be run from the camera directly to a single 4-port switch.
The audio is provided from a jack in the rear of the wireless receiver that sits on top of the audio cabinet. This jack is connected to the laptop via a USB to audio adapter. Ideally, the computer used for this purpose should have both an ethernet jack and an audio input jack, which would eliminate the need for external adapters.
Locations
Sanctuary
The camera is located above the curtain that separates the sanctuary from the ballroom/social hall.
The camera is powered from a Power Over Ethernet (POE) injector connected to the 4-port access point located on the shelf near the ceiling in the sanctuary next to the clock. This shelf also holds the receivers for the various wireless microphones. The 4-port switch gets its wired signal from another 4-port switch located in the audio closet.
Audio Closet
The Audio closet contains the Laptop Computer that runs the StreamSpot software, the audio receiver, and a 4-port wireless access point/switch in the ceiling which is fed from the 4-port switch in the Cantor’s office.
The switch connects to 1) a wireless access point/switch in the sanctuary located on a shelf near the ceiling next to the clock, 2) a wireless access point in the Caterer’s Kitchen, and 3) the StreamSpot laptop computer. A 2nd 4-port switch was added when we moved the Back-up computer from the gym to the shelf in the Audio Closet.
