We know that membership at any synagogue requires a significant financial commitment – one which may seem overwhelming to prospective members, particularly during these difficult economic times.This year, we are giving each member family of our congregation the opportunity to offer the gift of free membership, including High Holiday tickets, to ONE non-member individual or family for the upcoming year:

  • The recipient cannot previously have been a member of Congregation B’nai Tikvah (CBT).
  • Membership and building fund are free for the year.
  • Nursery and religious school tuition and fees will apply.
  • Participation in the gift-card program is not mandatory but is, of course, welcome.
  • The gift membership is not available to a family whose child’s Bar/Bat-Mitzvah is in the year of the gift. If children are in the year before their Bar/Bat Mitzvah, they must have had five years of religious school education or equivalent; simcha dates will be given as available.
  • The recipient must otherwise meet all eligibility requirements of the USCJ and, if coming from another
    synagogue, must be in good standing at that synagogue.
  • The right to a burial plot at Washington Cemetery applies only after a year of paid-up membership,
    as long as member remains in good standing;
  • Referral discounts will not also apply.
  • The deadline for applying for this gift membership is the beginning of the High Holy Days.

We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to introduce a friend, neighbor, or family member to B’nai Tikvah at no cost to them for one year.
