The eGroup is exclusive to B'nai Tikvah members and can be used to offer, or solicit help from other congregants. You can view all previous postings by logging into the group's website with your Yahoo-id.

| Q: | How do I send a message to all eGroup subscribers? | |
| A: | First review our guidelines if you haven't recently done so. Then use your normal e-mail program, addressing the message to: eGroup@BnaiTikvah.org. If your message is an "Official Announcement", you can reach a wider audience by posting it to the CBT Newsletter. See the various ways to make an announcement. | |
| Q: | Message Delivery Options? | |
| A: | "No Mail" means just that. You have to log into the Yahoo website to see posted messages. "Special" is similar to No Mail except, that on rare occasions (almost never), someone can send a message through the Yahoo website to to ALL subscribed members. | |
| Q: | How can I view older messages? | |
| A: | Every message posted to the group, since its inception in August 1999, is in the message archives where you can view them by Date or Subject. | |
| Q: | How do I change my email address? | |
| A: | First go to Yahoo Account Info to add your new email address. Then go to the Email Preferences page and click the "edit My Groups" link. Use the pull-down menu to select the email address you wish to use for each of your groups. To add an alternate posting addresses: Under the "Options" column to the right of the subscribed email address, click on the "Edit" link. Enter up to 5 additional addresses you would like to use to post messages from. | |

| A: | OneList hosted our initial e-mail list before merging with eGroups, a similar service which allowed organizations and individuals to maintain their own topical mailing lists. (eGroups was later acquired by Yahoo.) | |
| Q: | Who pays for this service? | |
| A: | It's totally free. Yahoo earns revenue by selling advertising space at the bottom of each message. B'nai Tikvah does not endorse these advertising blurbs. | |
| Q: | How is the group monitored? | |
| A: | The Bnaitikvah eGroup was established in August of 1999 by congregant Dan Greenberg who, in addition to Gary Bergman, is a registered moderator. The moderators do not impose any form of censorship, however, they are responsible for restricting the list to congregation members and have the ability to remove any unwanted subscribers. | |
| Q: | What's the difference between the eGroup and the CBT Newsletter? | |
| A: | This "bnaitikvah" eGroup initially served all our needs. It was later discovered that several congregants wanted to be informed of important events but, didn't want to be involved in discussions amongst other congregants. The CBT Newsletter was then created to distribute the weekly announcements and other important notices from the synagogue. We have since expanded the concept and there are now several specialized eGroups that members can sign-up for. When you join this or any other eGroup, you will also be subscribed to the newsletter. | |
