Twice a year (January & July) we host a blood drive under the auspices of
The Blood Center of NJ and the South Brunswick Community Blood Bank.

Sunday, January 11, 2009 - 11:00am - 3:00pm
During this year's free Health Fair

Every donor receives a $15 Gas Card from the Blood Center of NJ

Your Blood is Urgently Needed For:

  • Somebody with leukemia.
  • People being operated on.
  • Hemophiliacs, so they'll be normal as possible.
  • People undergoing dialysis, awaiting transplant.
  • Burn victims
  • New mothers in need of transfusion.
  • Babies needing a complete change of blood supply.
  • Cancer patients.
  • The very tired with severe anemia.
  • People in worse shape than most folks you know!

Blood collected has only 42-days of shelf life and then must be replaced.
A five-day supply of blood is continually needed.
Please become a multiple times a year donor, and encourage your older teenagers and young adults at home to join the fold.
We now offer the ALYX machine, which uses a smaller needle and allows you to donate two units of red cells in a single visit.

If you choose the ALYX machine, the requirements are slightly different:
  • Male donors must be at least 5'1" tall and weight at least 130 lbs.
  • Female donors must be at least 5'5" tall and weight at least 150 lbs.
Bring an ID with your signature.
